Buccal Intraoral Massage
Inside-out facial release for jaw and facial tension

Facial massage from the inside out
Discover a unique approach to facial wellness with Buccal Intraoral Massage, a specialized technique that works both inside and outside the mouth to address tension in the facial muscles, jaw, cheeks, and surrounding fascia.
Unlike traditional facial massage, buccal massage allows the therapist to access muscles and tissues that are difficult to reach from the outside alone. The treatment combines gentle intraoral massage with external facial techniques and may be paired with facial cupping and gua sha for a deeply relaxing, rejuvenating experience.
The intraoral portion is performed with gloves and only with your informed consent.
What Can Buccal Massage Help With?
Buccal massage may be especially beneficial for clients who:
-
Carry tension in their jaw, cheeks, or face
-
Frequently clench or grind their teeth
-
Experience tightness from stress or repetitive facial expressions
-
Hold tension through the jaw, neck, and scalp
-
Want a deeply relaxing facial massage experience
-
Are interested in supporting a more refreshed, sculpted appearance
-
Want to promote circulation and lymphatic movement in the face
-
Enjoy incorporating specialized massage techniques into their self-care routine
Massage and other manual techniques may help reduce muscular tension and discomfort associated with jaw-related symptoms.
The Beni Experience
Your session will incorporate a combination of:
Buccal Intraoral Massage — Gentle massage inside the cheeks to access deeper facial and jaw muscles.
External Facial Massage — Techniques applied to the face, jaw, neck, and scalp to encourage relaxation and release muscular tension.
Facial Cupping — Gentle suction techniques designed to promote circulation and lymphatic movement.
Gua Sha — A traditional massage technique using a smooth tool to gently work the facial tissues and promote relaxation and circulation.
Together, these techniques create a unique inside-out facial massage experience designed to leave you feeling relaxed, refreshed, and renewed.

If you’re experiencing persistent, severe, or unexplained jaw pain, locking, changes in your bite, significant difficulty opening your mouth, or other concerning symptoms, we recommend evaluation by an appropriate dental or medical professional rather than using massage as a substitute for diagnosis or treatment.
Contraindications & When to Postpone Treatment
Because this treatment involves contact inside the mouth, certain conditions require postponing the service or obtaining appropriate medical or dental clearance.
Buccal intraoral massage should not be performed if you currently have:
-
Active oral infections or dental infections
-
Cold sores, fever blisters, or other contagious oral lesions
-
Open wounds, ulcers, or broken skin inside or around the mouth
-
Dental abscesses or significant tooth pain
-
Fever or an active systemic infection
-
Recent oral or dental surgery
-
Recent tooth extraction, implant placement, root canal, or other significant dental procedure until adequately healed and cleared by your dental provider
-
Significant facial trauma or an acute jaw injury
-
Unexplained facial swelling
-
Severe or worsening jaw or facial pain
-
Jaw locking or a significant new restriction in mouth opening
-
Received botox, fillers, or other facial injectables in the last 2 weeks
Recent dental procedures and oral infections are particularly important considerations because the mouth contains microorganisms that can enter deeper tissues when tissue is disrupted.
Please tell your therapist before your appointment if you:
-
Take blood-thinning or anticoagulant medications
-
Have a bleeding disorder
-
Have a diagnosed TMJ/TMD condition
-
Have recently received Botox or dermal fillers

Depending on your circumstances, we may recommend postponing treatment or obtaining clearance from your healthcare or dental provider.
